Buildscope worked collaboratively with the proud homeowners to bring this stunning renovation and rear addition to life, an elegant fusion of heritage charm and contemporary design that balances craftsmanship, character and comfort.

Built during the challenges of COVID-19, communication and teamwork were essential. Half the existing home was demolished to create a deep undercroft for the new addition, complete with a driveway turntable in marine-grade tread plate. Complex excavation and engineering demanded close collaboration between our site team, structural engineers and trades to ensure every detail was executed with precision. The result is a seamless integration of old and new, restoring the bungalow’s original character while introducing modern form and flow.

Every detail reflects Buildscope’s commitment to craftsmanship and care, from hardwood exposed trusses and Caesarstone ‘Cloudburst’ benchtops, to the Australian Oak staircase framed by glass balustrades, all culminating in the staircase void crowned by a custom skylight glass-roof atrium that fills the home with warmth and natural light.

This project was recognised as the 2021 HIA Award Winner for Renovation/Addition over $1M, a testament to the shared vision, skill and perseverance that defined its journey. A true reflection of what’s possible when craftsmanship, collaboration and care come together.
